Bowling Green Chapel
History and Affiliations
Our church has been a part of the community since it was founded by Elder Brooks in 1929. The church building itself was erected in 1932, with the parsonage being built in 1938 to enable those who were working for the church to live near the church.
Throughout the ministries of the Fosters, the Waldvogels, the Andrews, the Bowers, the McKinnons, the Fettes, and now under the leadership of the elders and trustees of Bowling Green Chapel, we have not only served our small congregation, but many others. We have fellowship with folks in our community, the state of Virginia, the United States, and others with whom and to whom we minister around the world.
We also have close relations with the Ridgewood Fellowship of churches, primarily centered in New York City, but with associated congregations in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Maryland.
We minister through personal contact and also with our financial support for other workers in and outside our fellowship who are trying to help those in need.
In addition to the ministry centered on the church grounds, we have an active ministry of personal spiritual counseling, as well as telephone and internet contacts with those to whom we minister and with those who support our ministry. We personally fellowship with numbers of people from different churches throughout the Bowling Green and the Fredericksburg area, as we don't feel bound to minister to and receive ministry only from those of our own circle.
We also intend that our website for the Bowling Green Chapel will provide spiritual insight which we trust will be a help to those who are searching for spiritual meaning in the world around us.
